Hoon's Kosher Appleseed Biodiesel Processor
Before I make it seem that I desigend all this myself, let me offer credence to those who have come before me. The design ofthis was inspired from the work of several people on many websites. Tmost common name associated with the term "appleseed" is Girl Mark. There are others such as Sean Parks, Tilly, Neutral, Nucular, DVA, Rick Da Tech, Daniel Scott, etc who have influenced my design through their "open source education." I applaud the sites, such as biodiesel.infopop.cc and localb100.org for offering a feast of information! This is only my representation of the public ideas of which I have been privy.
This is the processor as viwed by my neighbors. While nice enough, they are terribly nosy. In cases such as these, some discretion is advised.
Here is the setup revealed. I use a separate site tube and a hard-piped pump line. When the standpipe tank is completed, there will be a line from the bottom of the wash tank to the pump input, allowing the one pump to circulate both the mix for processing and the finished BD for drying.
The lower plumbing. I have a drain valve on the bottom, a shut-off for the site tube and the oil/methox input valve complete with anti-drainback valve. The barbecue thermometer is perfect and offers a very wide range.

The upper plumbing. The valve on the far right is a venting closure. The other two valves direct flow either back into the tank or off to the washing/drying tank. I may well add a third outlet to send finished BD into the storage drums (seen off to the left--closest to the drive).
And finally, I answer the daunting question: what makes this processor "kosher?" Well, just by happenstance I picked up some used Ethanol barrels for settling/storage. As this picture clearly reveals, the barrels are indeed "kosher."
